Welcome to the art show. The paintings on either side are probably the only two that are done in this unique style. You will notice that some of the later works begin with a departure from the style you see here. In any case, I had fun doing these. As a painter there are some days that actually feel like the movement of the brush just flows from one path to the next. It's wonderful to step back and watch your progress. Something like a revelation of sorts.
Ok before I freak myself out lets talk about the actual work. On the left is my own depiction and thoughts concering the change of time. I feel the struggle and reluctance on both sides of this spectrum. On the right is "Our grandfathers the thunderers (or ground shakers)" The transition begins in the foreground.

Anyone see a ladder? Our warriors have a strong tradition in making ironwork their career. In fact these guys here may have actually climbed the coloums to sit together for some lunch. I mean what greater battle outside of all out war would the bravest of the brave and strongest of the strong do for a living? Well how about erecting 1000's of tons of iron 60 to 100 floors in the air.
Here's our old glory. Being reaady to stand up for the protection and interest of our people has been more than seven generations of tradition for us. Our community of Kahnawake has existed for over 300 years. As a whole community we have moved to our current location three times.
