Wecome to the second gallery

You might have been wondering what's with all the text and extra pics flyiing around here. I enjoy writing and I appreciate your patience for the laid back style of my art gallery/web site. My art work is bright with lots of color and I didn't want to subject my visitors to the usual stuffy and formal style presentation like other sites.  They can be quite boring as far as I'm concerned.  I know the primary focus is on their art work and sometimes only the artwork.  I don't wish to compete with that.  I surely would like to sell my work. But personaly I have that laid back approach to just aout everything that goes on. So why not my gallery! I didn't have a sepecialist making this site for me. (self evident) But I really enjoyed creating it.  And maybe intersted visitors might want to know something about me the artist, my people and culture. This is what underpins everything that I do. And I don't believe that even the best observer will pick out these kind of intricacies. Besides a lot more accounts of accurate history around here wouldn't hurt anybody. We would rather depend on the oral tradition of our elders and ancestors than someone else s written word.  We view history as each generation would interpret it. Our views change with each living generation as it does with everyone else but the events of the past are consistent and remain the same.

Master canoe builders are very hard to find these days. Cesar Newashish was the last expert I knew. He;s gone to the spirits now. Much of our traditions are being lost with the arival of every new generation.

The beautiful women of our nation create beautiful beaded flowers for our garments.

Flowered patterns done in beadwork (originaly quilwork) is typical of the indigenous nations of north eastern america.

Hey! Somebody left their war club here. No bother, it just means it is peace time for us.  A time to live and prosper or this personal weapon would be on the owners belt.  Curious, it's easy to pick up. Very difficult to put down.
